2022 Year-End News from HELP YOUTH CANADA & PROJECT BACKPACK

PROJECT BACKPACK – 17th Annual

We do our best work when we are connected to the community: & this year PBP has already connected with 12 schools.

They include: L’Ecole Cleveland School, Highlands Elementary, Mulgrave School, West Point Grey Academy, University Transition Program, Southridge School, Ridgeway School, Gladstone, Mountainside Secondary, Lord Selkirk Elementary, Queensbury Elementary, and KPU Wilson School of Design.

Directions Youth Center/FSGV, Hollyburn Community Services & Covenant House will receive the packs & contents, helping them to continue to do their important work. These partners are crucial to our work, & their reach goes deep into the at-risk community. Packs will be distributed to homeless youth, youth living in safe houses & those struggling to begin a new life off the street.

We are honoured to have our 17-year relationship with Family Services of Greater Vancouver featured in their 2021/22 newsletter.

Directions Youth Centre & PBP have worked to educate & empower thousands of Vancouver high school students, while helping to impact the lives of local homeless youth & the agencies that serve them.

A big new welcome to KPU Wilson School of Design for joining in the PBP mission.   Your enthusiasm and generosity is heartwarming. URL: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAj93m

Bursary Youth:

Five deserving bursary youth will return to their school programs (UBC, SFU, KPU, & VCC) in January ’23. Against so many odds, our bursary youth continue to persevere, excel & graduate. We wish you all the best of luck in ’23.

Corporate Community Support:

Grosvenor Canada & RBC Foundation have both generously donated to our mission, allowing us to purchase much-needed new backpacks. We are deeply thankful to them.

Thank you to Rampion Manufacturing for offering us a big new pack at a small price.  Everyone benefits from this kind gesture!

We couldn’t do our important work without the on-going support from Earlston Investments Corp.  Your team rocks! Thank you.

Lastly, thank you to everyone in the community:  students, teachers, case-workers, donors & volunteers, for their compassion & support.
